We were invited by IBM to take part in testing their new AI Racing League initiative, designed to upskill students in cutting-edge AI tools, including Granite.
Our students were challenged to train an AI-powered Formula One racing car and compete against university teams from across the country to achieve the fastest single-lap time. To do this, they’ve been deep-diving into IBM’s SkillsBuild platform, learning how to use Granite alongside reinforcement learning concepts to optimise performance and shave precious milliseconds off each lap.
